Job Description

The Transporter is responsible for the transportation of Compass Health consumers and will dispatch, route, and track new and existing transportation referrals. The Transporter will drive and maintain agency vehicles and must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.



This is a full-time position. The schedule will be based on need each day. Day is likely to begin at 6:30 am as needed. Scheduled days are typically Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday schedule.



ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS - JOB SPECIFIC

  • Drives within posted speed limits with passengers in their seatbelts while vehicle is in motion
  • Obeys safety regulations and traffic laws
  • Requires working in a team environment
  • Acts as a preceptor and educator to new staff
  • Reports and schedules any vehicle maintenance needs, and is responsible for regularly cleaning the vehicle
  • Reports any emergency breakdowns or accidents per company policy
  • Completes vehicle inspection, mileage, and maintenance logs
  • Must have knowledge and understanding of policy and procedures, and abide by all Federal and state laws
  • Transport Compass Health patients
  • Plan efficient pick up and drop off routes to maximize efficiency
  • Maintain professional, and respectful communication with customers, public and other staff
  • Follow event report and patient complaints policy and processes
  • Notify supervisor of unusual occurrences or risk management issues
  • Work outside in all weather conditions
  • Completes vehicle inspection logs (Wellbeing Center only)
  • May provide support with conflict resolution and support members when crises arise (Wellbeing Center only)
  • Supports staff and members in daily operations of Wellbeing Center (Wellbeing Center only)
  • Communicates any updates regarding members with supervisor and other staff (Wellbeing Center only)
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Respect person's served confidentiality and interact in a professional manner
  • Report any emergency breakdown or accident as required to transportation manager
  • Follow agency van usage guidelines

Other Responsibilities

  • Attend all trainings as required by Compass Health Network, Accreditors, and Funders
  • Other miscellaneous duties as assigned

WORKING CONDITIONS & EXPOSURE RISK

  • Regular exposure to fumes and/or gases
  • Operating vehicles or machinery
  • High School/GED preferred

WORK EXPERIENCE/TRAINING/ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to possess cognitive, organizational, and emotional maturity to deal effectively with multiple stressors required
  • At least one-year experience in customer service or health-related field preferred
  • Experience with management of transportation programs preferred
  • Excellent communication skills and computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite) preferred

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION

  • Must have a valid Class E Missouri driver's license upon hire
