QC Inspector I
Reports to: Quality Assurance Supervisor
Department: Quality Assurance
Job Summary:
This position exists to perform various inspections on manufactured products requiring some technical skills.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Performing inspections as required for the assigned area(s)
• Measuring product dimensions using hand-held gauges
• Performing visual inspection to evaluate qualitative characteristics
• Managing workflow and resources as required for the assigned area(s)
• Reporting nonconforming material
• Interpreting and adhering to internal procedures, part drawings, and other design/process control documents
• Creating and auditing quality records with good documentation practice
• Perform other related duties as assigned
Education:
• High School Diploma/GED
Experience:
None required
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Basic computer skills (i.e. network, intranet, internet navigation, data entry)
• Retrieving required forms and documents from document control system
• Ability to use manual gauges (e.g. micrometer, calipers, dial indicator, scale)
• Ability to interpret written instructions with industry-specific terms and technical concepts
• Ability to document inspection results
• Ability communicate affectively ability to speak Spanish a plus but not required)
Physical Requirements:
• Ability to look through a microscope for extended periods of time
• Frequent lifting and/or moving items up to 25 lbs
• Must be able to enter data into a computer by use of a keyboard and mouse
• Dexterity in fine motor skills to manipulate small and delicate objects
• Must be able to pass the following vision tests (with or without correction): Snellen (20/25), Jaeger No. 2, Ishihara
Work Environment:
• The work environment conditions are typical of a manufacturing environment. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the basic functions. The noise level in the work environment ranges from quiet to moderate, however, hearing protection may be required if employee enters high noise areas as a part of their normal job duties.
