Finance and Purchasing Analyst

Overview

A well-established manufacturing and distribution company is seeking a Finance and Purchasing Analyst. This position offers the opportunity to work in a collaborative team environment with a focus on continuous improvement and operational efficiency.

The Finance and Purchasing Analyst will play a key role in supporting financial reporting, budgeting, and purchasing functions. This individual will be responsible for conducting financial analyses, enhancing internal processes, and managing procurement activities to ensure timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services.

Major Duties & Responsibilities

  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Develop, monitor, and maintain budgets, forecasts, and variance reports.
  • Supplier Management: Evaluate and select suppliers based on quality, cost, and reliability; maintain strong supplier relationships.
  • Procurement Process: Oversee the procurement cycle, including purchase order creation, contract management, and negotiation.
  • Inventory Management: Track inventory levels and coordinate timely restocking to support uninterrupted operations.
  • Month-End Closing: Create and document journal entries for reclassifications, accruals, and amortization.
  • Cost Analysis: Perform cost analyses and market research to identify opportunities for cost savings.
  • Audit Support: Assist with documentation and data requests to support internal and external audits.
  • Process Improvement: Identify and implement process enhancements for financial and purchasing operations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Management or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • At least 3 years of experience in a finance or purchasing role, preferably in a manufacturing setting.
  • Basic knowledge of income statements and balance sheets.
  • Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite preferred).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
