The Agnes Irwin School, an all-girls' Pre-K through 12th grade independent school in the Philadelphia suburbs, is committed to fostering the intellectual and personal growth of girls and young women. Currently, The Agnes Irwin School is seeking a full-time Lower School Receptionist to begin August 1, 2025. The Lower School Receptionist will promote a positive image of the School, as the first point of contact for visitors to campus and individuals contacting the School by phone, and effectively respond to inquiries and requests posed by visitors, students and staff. Essential Functions: Greet and assist visitors, staff and students in a professional and timely manner Manage all visitors in and out of the Lower School Ensure visitors receive and display proper identification when on campus Operates the Lower School multi-line phone system; direct calls to the appropriate party, take messages and provide information and assistance to callers Assists with deliveries and shipping Assists with document preparation and other office duties as directed Operates a variety of office business equipment associated with school activities Contribute positively to employee morale; maintains a positive, pleasant demeanor to all constituencies Performs all receptionist duties for the Lower School. Incumbent is part of the Lower School team and supports activities as needed. Works closely with the Division Director, Administrative Assistant and Nurse to ensure a safe, and inviting environment. Manages all volunteer clearances Support Lower School events Other duties as assigned Other Responsibilities: Maintain front desk coverage between the hours of 8:00-3:15 p.m. Supervise before school care between 7:15-8:00 a.m., including registration and oversight of student workers. Assist with student arrival and dismissal Receive late student arrivals after morning arrival Supervise early dismissal Lower School students Support the Lower School admission team with special projects. Transportation Receive early bus arrivals at 7:15 a.m. Assist with early bus dismissal on snow days or other designated days Maintain security protocols for the Lower School as point of entry Support the operations of the Lower School Cover lunch break for LS administrative assistant Secure a substitute when out Qualifications: High school diploma or GED, some college a plus Minimum of 1 year of previous experience in an equivalent position or equivalent amount of relevant training and experience Intermediate skill level using Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word Agility with advances in technology Demonstrated competency with basic internet and word processing spreadsheet applications Ability to use basic office equipment Ability to apply common sense understanding and to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form Ability to ascertain which people may need immediate assistance and to act accordingly Ability to communicate effectively with all constituents in a school environment Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills The Agnes Irwin School is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
