Combinely is building an AI coworker for accountants.

Accounting firms spend $180 billion on labor in the US alone while their workforce is shrinking –75% of CPAs will retire in the next decade. Combinely bridges the gap with an AI coworker that uses the same tools & knowledge to draft client-ready work just like a seasoned accountant.

What you’ll do

• Deliver magic – design, build, and ship agentic AI systems that can reason, use tools, and solve complex accounting tasks.
• Talk to customers – understand the impact of the product and how to take it to the next level.
• Hire & mentor –help recruit the next wave of engineers and establish a positive & high-performance culture.

Your experience

Requirements:

• 2+ years building and shipping production software
• Experience building and shipping LLM-powered products, with a deep understanding of agents, RAG, and evaluation.
• Strong programming skills, ideally in TypeScript or Python. Our stack is primarily TypeScript, Next.js, Prisma + MySQL, deployed on Vercel, PlanetScale, GCP & Azure.
• Daily user of AI coding tools (e.g. Cursor)
• Happy to work in-person in SF 5 days a week
• Authorised to work in the US.

Nice to haves

• Experience with accounting, fintech, or compliance workloads
• Startup or B2B software background

Interview process

We aim to move fast and give an answer within 24 hours after each stage. You can expect an offer within 2 weeks from application.

1. Founder call (30 mins) –get to know each other and make sure we’re on the same page.
2. Take-home task (72h) –a realistic task you might take on at Combinely.
3. On-site interview (2-3h) – deep-dive on your take-home + extend it with a new feature, walk through past projects, and an open culture chat.
