Executive Functioning Strategies: Train teachers on the use of evidence-based executive functioning strategies, including those based on Sarah Ward's Cognitive Connections model. Guide teachers in implementing strategies that support task initiation, organization, goal-setting, planning, and self-regulation in everyday classroom activities. Assist in creating a structured and supportive classroom environment that fosters the development of executive skills in students. Professional Development: Offer workshops and training sessions on executive functioning strategies for teachers, with a focus on classroom management and support techniques for students with varying executive functioning needs. Provide resources, tools, and materials to teachers to support the implementation of executive functioning strategies. Stay current on research and best practices related to executive functioning and share new insights with the faculty. Student Support: Work closely with teachers to develop tailored approaches for students who struggle with executive functioning, ensuring that interventions are aligned with students' academic and personal needs. Foster an environment where students are encouraged to take ownership of their learning, set goals, and use strategies to improve their self-regulation and organizational skills. Collaboration & Communication: Collaborate with school leadership, counselors, and other stakeholders to ensure the successful integration of executive functioning strategies across the school. Communicate effectively with teachers, providing ongoing support and professional development to ensure successful implementation of strategies. Qualifications: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, Special Education, Psychology, or a related field.
