- Hours: 1st shift, Monday through Friday, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm EST
- Salary: $70-85K (FLSA status – Exempt)
Applicants should have at least three (3) out of five (5) of these qualifications:
- Experience with ISO 9001/14001 audits (spearheading and/or completing)
- Experience with CARs and root-cause analysis.
- Experience with Process Safety Management.
- Conducting risk assessments and audits of workplace practices and environmental compliance
Position is 70% Environmental Health related tasks, with only 30% Safety related tasks.
Key duties include but not limited to the following:
- Work with management and employees to promote a strong safety culture and address
- concerns.
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve EHS programs and initiatives that align with the organization's goals and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with all applicable environmental, health, and safety laws and regulations. Keep abreast of changes in regulations and assess their impact on company operations.
- Design and conduct EHS training programs for employees at all levels to promote a strong safety culture. Ensure all employees are aware of EHS policies and procedures.
- Lead investigations of workplace incidents, near misses, and environmental incidents. Analyze findings to identify root causes and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Conduct regular risk assessments and audits of workplace practices and environmental
- compliance. Identify potential hazards and implement appropriate controls.
- Oversee waste management and environmental compliance activities, ensuring proper handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous materials.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, maintenance, and engineering, to integrate safety practices into daily operations and projects.
- Prepare and maintain accurate documentation, reports, and records related to EHS activities, including inspections, audits, and compliance reports.
- Stay informed of industry best practices, trends, and technologies related to environmental
- health and safety. Recommend and implement improvements based on findings.
- Communicate with cross-functional teams to address quality-related issues and drive continuous improvement.
- Observe all safety and ISO 9001/14001 Requirements.
Requirements: Skills, Qualifications, Experience, Special Physical Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety, environmental science, engineering, or a related field.
- At least three years of experience in environmental health and safety roles in an industrial manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local EHS regulations and standards (OSHA, EPA, DOT).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to conduct thorough investigations and risk assessments.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with employees at all levels of the organization.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite and EHS management software.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Commitment to promoting a culture of safety, compliance, and environmental sustainability.
- Experience with Process Safety Management (PSM) is a plus.
- Relevant certifications a plus (CSP, CIH, CHMM, PE).
- Must pass Department of Homeland Security background check, pre-placement physical and pre-employment drug-screen.
