The Donation Support Coordinator (DSC) is responsible for telephone screening to determine suitability for tissue donation, obtaining authorization from family for donation, and completion of medical/social history of deceased patient. The DSC is also responsible for database entry and other office duties necessary to ensure proper processing of donors according to FDA and AATB standards.
Working hours: Full time. 4pm to 12a -Monday through Friday and alternating weekends (same shift/work hours) are also required. This allows for flexibility for days off mid-week. This position is remote. You will need to provide your own laptop and computer. Office located in Memphis, TN. Salary is $20- $22 p/h range; based on experience and education.
Qualifications: Must have a college degree or two years experience working in healthcare or related field. Medical terminology knowledge is preferred. Previous OPO experience a plus! Data entry/transcription experience needed. Must demonstrate exceptional verbal and listening skills because all communication is done over the phone. Candidate should demonstrate confidence in their communication to balance showing compassion to donor families and requesting authorization of musculoskeletal and/or cardiovascular tissues for donation.
