As a Delivery Driver and Pharmacy Technician for Omnicare Pharmacy, you will deliver prescription orders and/or products to customers on a predetermined route and schedule. Delivery drivers and pharmacy technicians take important steps to ensure all medication needs and regulatory compliance standards are met for our patients and they demonstrate ethical conduct and always maintain patient confidentiality. Success for incumbents in this role includes being able to manage all assigned pharmacy workstations and tasks to support the team’s ability to fill patient prescriptions promptly, safely and accurately. Responsibilities include partnering with function supervisor to coordinate workflow, following policy and procedures for product compounding and assembly, preparing medications according to prescription orders, assisting with workflow coordination, maintaining a safe and clean work environment, rotating and working within assigned pharmacy workstations, ensuring compliance with all laws and regulations, providing timely and accurate delivery of medication and supplies, loading products for delivery, logging deliveries, confirming correct medication shipments, maintaining vehicles, using mobile phones and GPS for route navigation, deploying alternative delivery methods in emergencies, following HIPAA regulations, driving for long periods, receiving product deliveries, performing physical inventories, sorting medication baskets, preparing manifests, scanning medication for delivery, checking bins before departure, and assisting pharmacy floor during down times. Required qualifications include a High School Diploma or GED, certification/licensed/registered pharmacy technician or as required by state law, ability to concentrate, good communication skills, math skills, judgment, customer service orientation, geographical knowledge, flexibility for nights and weekends, valid driver’s license, and ability to drive long periods. Preferred qualifications include prior experience in long-term care, pharmacy, retail, medical or customer service settings, PTCB National Certification, and prior driving experience.
