Superintendent – Houston, TX

Commercial General Contractor | Ground-Up Projects

We are partnering with a reputable General Contractor in Houston that specializes in delivering high-quality ground-up commercial projects across K-12, Community, Fire Stations, Churches, and Libraries. With a strong pipeline of projects and a reputation for excellence, they are now seeking an experienced Superintendent to join their team.

*Candidates with solely multi-family or residential backgrounds will not be considered*

The Role:

As Superintendent, you will take ownership of the project site, ensuring that all work is carried out to the highest standards of safety, quality, and efficiency. You’ll be the key leader on-site, driving the project forward from pre-construction through closeout.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and oversee all field operations from groundbreaking to project completion
• Coordinate daily activities of subcontractors, suppliers, and trades to keep the project on schedule
• Enforce site safety policies and ensure compliance with OSHA and company standards
• Review drawings, plans, and specifications to identify potential issues and provide solutions
• Conduct daily and weekly site meetings with project teams and subcontractors
• Maintain detailed project documentation, including logs, reports, and schedules
• Work closely with the Project Manager to monitor progress, cost, and quality
• Perform regular quality checks to ensure workmanship meets project specifications
• Lead site inspections, punch lists, and final closeout activities
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, architects, engineers, and city officials

Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Superintendent on commercial ground-up projects
• Previous experience across sectors such as K-12, community buildings, churches, libraries, or fire stations
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, scheduling, and safety regulations
• Proven leadership and team management skills
• Based in Houston, TX (local candidates only)
