CNC Machinist

Trillium Professional is now seeking a CNC Machinist in Pomona!

Under the general supervision of the Manufacturing Supervisor, the CNC Operator is responsible for setting up and operating computer numerical control (CNC) machinery, which automatically mills, punches, drills, broaches, or reams metal and plastic components. The operator makes necessary adjustments to ensure adherence to established specifications and monitors the machinery to prevent malfunctions. The role involves making informed decisions regarding quality, tolerances, and the sequence of operations.

Key responsibilities include:

• Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, charts, and tables to determine the required machining operations and plan the optimal sequence of tasks.
• Calculate dimensions and tolerances, and accurately measure and layout workpieces.
• Set up, operate, and maintain various machine tools, including CNC equipment, to achieve precision in machining.
• Fit and assemble machined metal parts and subassemblies using hand and power tools.
• Verify the accuracy of product dimensions and ensure compliance with specifications using precision measuring instruments.
• Potentially set up and program machine tools for use by machining tool operators.
• Scan all job orders through the Made2Manage (M2M) system.
• Maintain, repair, and calibrate precision measuring instruments such as dial indicators, micrometers, and calipers.
• Report any deviations from specifications and tolerances to the supervisor.

Pay rate is $25 per hour.

Minimum qualifications include:

• A high school diploma or equivalent is required; an Associate degree or completion of a technical trade school is preferred.
• A minimum of five years of machine shop experience, including knowledge of "G" code, or a combination of four years of relevant work experience is desirable.
• Trade certification as a CNC machinist is an advantage.
• Proficient in using measuring devices to ensure work meets blueprint specifications.
• Basic math skills and clear communication abilities are essential.
• Strong organizational and time management skills, attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to manage competing priorities across multiple projects while consistently meeting deadlines.
• Ability to lift weights ranging from 20 to 50 pounds.
