The Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist collaborates with healthcare professionals to provide expert care during cardiac and vascular procedures in a catheterization lab setting. They monitor and manage patients with severe cardiac conditions, ensuring safety and high-quality patient outcomes. This role requires specialized certifications and experience in interventional cardiology, supporting complex cardiovascular interventions.

Schedule: 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM with after hours, weekends, and holiday call responsibilities; Part-Time

Location: Presbyterian Medical Center - Charlotte, NC

 

Novant Health is seeking an experienced Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist for a procedural role to collaborate with other healthcare professionals and provide care to patients undergoing cardiac and vascular procedures. The ideal candidate has a strong background in Cath Lab and Interventional Cardiology. The candidate will have advanced skills in monitoring, managing, and caring for patients with severe cardiac conditions, ensuring high-quality care and patient safety. Qualifications:
  • Education: Graduate from one of the following Accredited Education Programs required: • Registered Nurse (RN) • Registered Radiology Technology (RTR) • Registered Respiratory Therapy (RRT) • Registered Cardiac Invasive Specialist (RCIS) • Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES) • Emergency Medical Technician – Paramedic (EMT-P) • Cardiovascular Tech (CVT) • Vascular Intervention (VI).
  • Experience: 
    • If RN, one (1) year of Critical Care, Emergency Services, Cath/EP Lab, or Special Procedures experience, required.
    • If EMT-P, two (2) years of acute care hospital experience, required.
    • If RTR, RRT, RCIS, RCES, CVT or VI one (1) year of experience, required.
  • Licensure/Certification:  Registered Nurse (RN)-North Carolina Board of Nursing License Registered Radiology Technologist (RTR) -ARRT Radiology OR Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedic (EMT-P) credentialing/accreditation and/or Paramedic associate degree from an appropriately recognized Paramedic program. Or Technologist Registry OR Respiratory Therapist-licensed by the North Carolina Respiratory Care Board (NCRCB) AND Credentialed by the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) as RRT. OR Registered Cardiac Invasive Specialist, Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist, Cardiovascular Tech, and Vascular Intervention-graduate of an accredited Cardiovascular Program. If the Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (CIS) is not a RN, RTR with CI or VI certification, he/she must obtain their Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) or Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES) within 24 months of hire for continued employment, required.
  • Additional Skills (required):
    • Ability to successfully complete generic and department-specific skill validation and competency testing.
    • Pass yearly Cardiac Dysrhythmias Test
