Duration: 12 Months Contract

Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly experienced CAD Operator IV to join our team in Charlotte, NC. In this role, you will convert initial design concepts into detailed, production-ready CAD drawings. You will work closely with engineering and project teams to ensure all designs meet established standards and specifications. This position requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to lead or mentor others as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create detailed 2D CAD drawings including elementary diagrams, control building layouts, panel layouts, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
• Collaborate closely with engineers and cross-functional teams to ensure consistent, coordinated design systems.
• Perform drawing checks and quality reviews assigned.
• Interpret and revise electrical schematics and design documentation.
• Support engineering initiatives and contribute to design discussions.
• Maintain drawing accuracy and compliance with project standards.

Qualifications:

• Associate’s degree in a related technical field preferred.
• 10+ years of experience in CAD design, preferably in electrical or control systems.
• Proficient in Autodesk AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical, and Bentley MicroStation.
• Strong understanding of electrical control systems and industrial automation components.
• Ability to read and interpret complex electrical schematics and diagrams.
• Familiarity with electrical design concepts, engineering principles, and applicable CAD standards.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Team-oriented mindset with strong organizational and time management abilities.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Creative problem solver with a wide degree of flexibility and independent judgment.
• Leadership potential and experience guiding or reviewing the work of others is a plus.

Work Environment:

You will report to a department manager and may be tasked with leading small project teams or coordinating tasks across disciplines. This role requires both technical precision and creative input, with flexibility in addressing complex design challenges.
