Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Procurement Specialist to manage and optimize our sourcing and purchasing processes. The ideal candidate will be responsible for acquiring goods and services in a cost-effective and timely manner while ensuring quality standards are met. This role requires strong negotiation skills, supplier relationship management, and the ability to analyze market trends.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Source, negotiate, and purchase materials, equipment, and services in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors to ensure high-quality and timely delivery.
  • Evaluate supplier performance based on quality standards, delivery time, and best prices.
  • Prepare and process purchase orders, requisitions, and supplier agreements.
  • Analyze purchasing trends and prepare procurement reports.
  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with relevant departments to forecast procurement needs.
  • Collaborate with internal departments (e.g., finance, operations, logistics) to ensure procurement requirements are met.
  • Maintain accurate procurement records and documentation for auditing and compliance purposes.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and work to reduce procurement expenses.
  • Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements in procurement processes.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of sourcing and procurement techniques as well as a dexterity in “reading” the market.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in procurement or supply chain (e.g., CIPS, CPSM, APICS) is a plus.
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) is desirable.
  • Knowledge of contract management and supplier evaluation methodologies.
